Current Grievances

  • Operation of clamp, forklift, and yard switcher by management.
    • These positions are clearly outlined in our contract and must be held and maintained by a union member.
    • The union has video and photo evidence to provide to an arbitrator if the practice continues to go on and the grievance is ignored.
  • Drivers are not getting paid to train new hires.
    • Drivers are entitled to $20 per day for training new hires.
  • Management rights violation.
    • In Florence, drivers are being written up for not counting and checking their loads for proper product. This is not a practice in Jersey City outside of school routes doing a proper case count. Management must notify the union ten days prior of said changes and they must be implemented at both locations.
      • Ramifications will be loss of drivers, absorbent amount of overtime cost, longer routes, more injuries, and the inevitable loss of more drivers.

Current Events

Cream-O-Land Dairy has won the sole contract of production and distribution of all milk for the
boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, and now Staten Island. Staten Island has six new school routes starting
6/2/25. The company absorbs six non-cdl drivers from the previous company servicing these routes. As
per our agreement these routes must go up for bid or a grievance will be filed.

There will be an announcement made by one our active representatives.

Discuss Contract Key Points

  • What do we wish to see in the next contract?
