Giving Back. Flashback of 2024.
As the Dairy Workers Association continue to grow, we are trying to find legal ways to give back to our members. In 2024 we made solid strides in this area and we look to improve in 2025 using this year’s new contract as a catapult into future endeavors. Here are some areas we were able to give back to our hard laboring Dairy Workers.

- Lunches
- Dinners
- Driver’s license renewals
- Monthly perfect attendance rewards
- Rain attire, gloves, and back packs
- Holiday raffles
- Meeting raffles
- Goodwill Benefit Fund
- Driver referral (one-year non-cdl)
In total the Dairy Workers gave back [Financial details available to members]. This is nearly one third of our budget but we truly believe you are all worth it and we intend on giving more back as we garner more experience in managing a great group of members such as yourselves.
Current Events
Route bidding in Jersey City is slow due to the nature of the control issues from an inept group of management that adheres to the slow-witted salesman that only see a dollar sign and not the backs our warehouse workers and drivers. In the end management and the company only care unless their bottom line is affected then they disown us. Wake up members.
This Tuesday Jersey City management has agreed to post multiple routes for current members to bid upon thus avoiding a costly losing battle in arbitration as per our CBA.
- 2nd shift warehouse avoided arbitration based on a previous union victory in state appointed mediation.
- Cream-O-Land had to pay again for their persistent violations.
- 8 hours of pay
Tax season is upon us and so are the final inputs for our union financial records. All records will be made available to members in good standing upon request.
The union is open to suggestions to collecting membership input for this year’s contract negotiations.

Union taxes for reps should be completed this week.
There is going to be a revamp of our union information boards and our website in the coming future.
Health plans have been modified for the new year and multiple members have complained about the coverage or lack thereof.
- The president of our local has addressed the matter and is seeking a company agreed resolution.
Additional Requests
- Shop steward NYC schools is looking for union help to finance a missed day of work the company refused to assist him with to go to court to avoid fines and penalties that would have resulted in him losing his license and job.
- Driver Steven Medina is requesting to be compensated like the other drivers who reffered drivers (non-cdl) to the company and stayed for a year
- 7/1 Robert Coleman and Jose Liriano
- Vote forms will be passed around as were done at other meetings pertaining to such matters
- Tyrik Darby seeks a membership vote to represent Jersey City 2nd shift warehouse
