      • Route Bidding (Jersey City) 
        • Company agrees to begin posting one bid at a time as per the contract avoiding arbitrations.  
          • 1st route to be bid is 272 
            • Long Island Schools 
  • No Just Cause Termination 
    • 2nd shift warehouse Jersey City (2 members) 
      • Arbitration Filed 
        • Agreement to settle awarding the members all owed sick, personal, and vacation days. Under job abandonment they were terminated and lost all owed days as per the contract. 
  • No Just Cause Termination 
    • 2nd shift warehouse Florence 
      • Monday meeting with HR 9/23/24 
  • Unpaid Holiday 
    • Florence Driver 
  • Job abandonment no pay out. 
    • Jersey City Driver (under review)

        • 1st grievance denied 
          • Union responded with the attorney. 
            • To be reviewed by COL Monday 9/23/24 before filing for Arbitration 

Current Event 

  • Goodwill benefit fund started 
    • One member in Jersey City awarded funds (not full amount requested) 
  • New route in Jersey City created 
  • Raises were implemented 
  • Dues increase will apply to all reps and incoming members starting the first week of October. Any member that decides not to have their dues increased until the next contract may reserve that right.  

Today’s Tasks 

  • Election Process Started 
    • Acclimation- A ‘vote of acclamation’ or ‘elected by acclamation’ refers to an uncontested election. 
      • As per the Dairy Workers Association constitutional bylaws all current rep’s positions, were moved into election acclimation except the following: 
        • Vice President, Trustee, and 1st shift warehouse (possible) 
        • To dispute this, you can contact the union attorney (see any representative for contact info) or file with the Federal Labor Department.  
  • All email and mailing addresses of all current members will be given to the union next week. The union secretary will begin to get all ballots out by the first week of October. All ballots will have a return envelope post marked to return to a designated post office box. The election committee (3 members) and the trustees (3 members) will open the ballots and do a count via Zoom for all members to watch. 
  • Elections will be counted on in November at a date to be determined. 

Next meeting will be in person on 10/27/24 at 9:00 AM at the VFW in New Brunswick
